My heart is with the brave and courageous protestors who stand up against racism and police brutality. I echo their voices in demanding justice for Ahmaud Arbery, George Floyd, Tony McDade and Breonna Taylor.

That these same cries have repeated year after year with different names shows that the nation has failed to make progress in the fight against ignorance, prejudice, and hate.

I believe a just and equitable America is possible. To acheive it, we must work to dismantle systemic anti-black racism in government, in schools, in the work force, and in our communities. I stand with all those who believe, as I do, that this work is necessary, vital, and urgent.
